Mind of 3
Mind of 3 is a high-energy trio that has captivated audiences across Western Colorado with all kinds of music from the dance hits of Duke Ellington to covers of Nirvana and the Police, to jazz club favorites and original compositions.
Nick Carozza attacks the stage with his keyboards, oboes, and stage presence. When he's not flying around with a keytar, Nick performs with the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra. An avid jazz musician, Nick’s compositions have been performed by CMU Ensembles including at the Colorado Music Educators Association convention.
Bass player and composer extraordinaire Justin G. Russell holds down the low end. A versatile composer, he has written chamber music including numerous duets and trios heard in his chamber concert series “Russell and Friends”. In addition to his bass playing, Justin aka J. Russell released his debut hip hop CD "Create Harmony" with Artica Productions
Local favorite Sofia Benham provides the rhythms on drums. She is a versatile drummer fluent in many styles. Her style draws on influences of jazz, rock, and the intricacy of marching percussion. Sofia can be heard performing with Peach Street Revival and the Sunday Morning All-Stars.
The trio performs Nick’s original music as well as standards and covers sure to please.
